Installation

CAUTION

• Do not install in:

—Places where it eould injure the driver or pas­

sengers if the vehiele stops suddenly.

—Plaees where it may interfere with the driver,

sueh as on the floor in front of the driver’s
seat.

• Make sure that wires are not eaught in the sliding

meehanism of the seats, resulting in a short-eir-
euit.

• Confirm that no parts are behind the panel when

drilling a hole for installation of the amplifier.
Proteet all eables and important equipment sueh
as fuel lines, brake lines and eleetrieal wiring
from damage.

• Install tapping serews in sueh a way that the

serew tip does not toueh any wire. This is impor­
tant to prevent wires from being eut by vibration
of the ear, whieh ean result in fire.

• To prevent eleetrie shoek, do not install the ampli­

fier in plaees where it might eome in eontaet with
liquids.

• To ensure proper installation, use the supplied

parts in the manner speeified. If any parts other
than the supplied ones are used, they may damage
internal parts of the amplifier, or they may
beeome loose eausing the amplifier to shut down.

To prevent malfunction

• To ensure proper heat dissipation of the amplifier,

be sure of the following during installation.

—Allow adequate spaee above the amplifier for

proper ventilation.

—Do not eover the amplifier with a floor mat or

earpet.

• Do not install the amplifier near a door where it

may get wet.

• Do not install the amplifier on unstable plaees

sueh as the spare tire board.

• The best loeation for installation differs with the

ear model and installation loeation. Seeure the
amplifier at a suffieiently rigid loeation.

• Make temporary eonneetions first and eheek that

the amplifier and the system operate properly.

• After installing the amplifier, eonfirm that the

spare tire, jaek and tools ean be easily removed.

Example of installation on the floor

1. Place the amplifier where it is to he

installed. Insert the supplied tap­
ping screws (4

screw holes. Push on the screws with
a screwdriver so they make marks
where the installation holes are to
he located.

2. Drill 2.5 mm diameter holes at the

point marked, and install the ampli­
fier, either on the carpet or directly

to the chassis.
