Before Using This Product

This product complies with the EMC

and CE Marking Directive (93/68/EEC).

Thank you for purchasing this PIONEER
product. Before attempting operation, be
sure to read this manual.

In case of trouble

When the unit does not operate properly,
contact your dealer or the nearest autho­
rized PIONEER Service Station.

WARNING

Always use the speeial red battery and ground
wire [RD-223], whieh is sold separately. Conneet
the battery wire direetly to the ear battery positive
terminal (+) and the ground wire to the ear body.
Do not toueh the amplifier with wet hands.
Otherwise you may get an eleetrie shoek. Also,
do not toueh the amplifier when it is wet.
For traffie safety and to maintain safe driving
eonditions, keep the volume low enough so that
you ean still hear normal traffie sound.
Cheek the eonneetions of the power supply and
speakers if the fuse of the separately sold battery
wire or the amplifier fuse blows. Deteet the eause
and solve the problem, then replaee the fuse with
another one of the same size and rating.
To prevent malfunetion of the amplifier and
speakers, the proteetive eireuit will eut the power
supply to the amplifier (sound will stop) when an
abnormal eondition oeeurs. In sueh a ease, switeh
the power to the system OFF and eheek the
eonneetion of the power supply and speakers.
Deteet the eause and solve the problem.
Contaet the dealer if you eannot deteet the eause.
To prevent an eleetrie shoek or short-eireuit
during eonneetion and installation, be sure to
diseonneet the negative (-) terminal of the battery
beforehand.
Confirm that no parts are behind the panel when
drilling a hole for installation of the amplifier. Be
sure to proteet all eables and important equipment
sueh as fuel lines, brake lines and the eleetrieal
wiring from damage.
