Chapter 4

Camera configuration

This chapter explains how to configure the cameras through a Web browser.

You must have administrator rights on your PC in order to configure the cameras
over the internet.

Camera parameters

This section describes how to configure the camera settings from the Channel
Parameters window. There are seven subfolders, which are described below:

Display settings: Defines how the date and time are displayed. By default

the name appears in the lower right corner of the window and the date/time
on the top. See “Defining how information is displayed” on page 26 for
information on defining the camera name.

Video settings: Defines the video settings of a camera. The stream mode,

stream type, resolution, image quality, bit rate, frame rate, and video
compression can all be modified. See “Defining the system time” on page 27
for more information.

Schedule record: Defines the recording schedule of the camera. See

“Defining a recording schedule” on page 30.

Motion detection: Defines the on-screen area to trigger a response and the

method of response. See “Motion detection alarm” on page 31.

Text overlay: Defines up to four lines of extra text on-screen. They can be

positioned anywhere. See “Adding extra on-screen text” on page 33.

Camera image settings: Defines image quality parameters as well as

camera behavior such as shutter speed, iris mode, day/night mode, IR mode,
image flip, power mode and white balance.

Time & date: Defines the synchronization of the time and date with the NTP

server.
