STEP 7 - PORT FORWARDING AND ONLINE VIEWING

Port forwarding is a necessary step to allow someone from outside your network to view your camera footage with your External IP address. This feature is great for viewing the camera footage if you are at work or

out of town. You can put a password on through the watcher program so that only people with the password and your external IP address can view the footage. The directions for setting a password for the online

viewing in are in the SOFTWARE - IN DEPTH section under password protection.

Before you begin port forwarding you will need:

` The USB receiver hooked up to your computer

` The watcher software installed and running (The software ALWAYS needs to be running to view the footage online)

` Your computer hooked up to a network/router

` The brand and model number of your router (this is usually located on the back or bottom of the router)

` Your choice of Internet web browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox)

` The Internal IP address of the computer that the USB receiver is attached to

` If you are not using the default Port (Port 80) you will also need the port that the software is programmed to run off of. To see what your port is set to see Remote Access in the SOFTWARE-IN DEPTH section
