Types of Logins and Access

There are separate types of logins that have different purposes. It is important that you
understand the difference so that you know which login to use when.

Modem router login

logs you in to the modem router interface.

ISP login

logs you in to your Internet service. Your service provider has provided you with

this login information in a letter or some other way. If you cannot find this login
information, contact your service provider.

Wireless network key or password

. Your modem router is preset with a unique wireless

network name (SSID) and password for wireless access. This information is on the label
on the bottom of your modem router.

Log In to the Modem Router

You can log in to the rmodem router to view or change its settings.

To log in to the modem router:

Type http://192.168.0.1 in the address field of your browser and press Enter to display

the login window. You can also enter http://www.mywifirouter.com.

Enter admin for the user name and admin for the password, both in lowercase letters.

When you log in, if you are connected to the Internet, the Firmware Upgrade Assistant
screen displays so you can upgrade to the latest firmware.

A message displays telling you whether the modem router discovered newer firmware.

To update to the new firmware, click Yes to allow the modem router to download and install

the new firmware file from On Networks.

WARNING:

To avoid corrupting the firmware, do not interrupt this process by
closing the browser window, clicking a link, or loading a new
page.

When the upload is complete, the modem router restarts. The update process typically
takes about 1 minute.
