Cleaning and assembling components

Cleaning and inspecting the manual flow control dia-
phragm:

Unscrew union nut.
➨ Remove existing deposits, if necessary with cleansing
agent.
Assembly of flow control diaphragm
➨
Fix diaphragm by hand and turn control button in direction
of arrow + (open). Open flow control diaphragm complete-
ly.
☞ Do not use any tools to fix the diaphragm to avoid damag-
ing the diaphragm.
➨ Assemble flow control diaphragm with the four marks of
the operating part fitting in the four dents of the valve bloc.
Otherwise leakage will result. Avoid any canting of the
components.
➨ Tighten union nut.
If the pump does not achieve the ultimate vacuum:
- Whenever the diaphragms and valves have been replaced, a break-in period of several hours is
required before the pump achieves its ultimate vacuum.
- In case of an unusual noise, switch off pump immediately and check clamping disc positions.
If the specified ultimate vacuum is not achieved, and if this does not change after the break-in period:
Check hose connectors at pump heads for leaks. If necessary recheck valve seats and pump chambers.
