When setting the AP in Bridge Client Mode the MAC address from the Root Bridge
will need to be entered in the Root AP MAC Address fi eld.
NOTE: We recommend manually entering the MAC address as cut and
paste operations have been known to cause formatting issues
that will prevent the bridge from connecting.
Now simply match the SSID, Security Mode and Passphrase confi gured on the Root
Bridge. Then simply click Save and Reboot to apply the changes, the Luxul AP will
now start running in Bridge Client mode passing data between the two bridged
points.
NOTE: Bridge mode allows all device MAC addressing to be preserved
and will not allow for client device connections only Bridge
Clients will be able to connect.
5.4.3 Bridge Mode with Client Access
Client device access when running in Bridge Mode:
To allow devices to connect to any Luxul AP in Bridge Mode we recommend setting
a second SSID to allow client devices to connect. In the AP’s management page
select Wireless >> Settings, then select SSID 2 and confi gure the Client network.
NOTE:
This SSID must be different than the SSID used for the bridge
connection, and may match on the Bridge Root and Bridge
Client devices.
