3.6 ANALOG INPUT / OUTPUT DESCRIPTIONS
Name Function
Input
MB/SW Tension
Sensor
Connection for MB and SW series tension sensors. See Section 3.3.2 for details.
TSA Tension Sensor Connection for TSA series tension sensors. See Section 3.3.2 for details.
External Manual
Sets the control output level when control is in Manual Mode. A setting of +5V
sets control output at 100% and 0V at 0%. Set MSW1–0 to Enable. When the
External Manual setting is enabled, it over-rides the front panel setting.
External Auto
Sets the tension set point level when control is in Automatic Mode. A setting
of +5V sets tension set point at Full Scale Tension and 0V at zero tension. Set
MSW1–1 to Enable. When enabled, External Auto over-rides the front panel
setting.
Analog Diameter
A measurement of the roll diameter with an analog input.
The input range is +10V at full roll diameter and 0V at center of core.
Set MSW1–2 to Enable.
New Shaft Diameter
Used for setting the diameter of a new roll for use with the Splicing Operation with
an analog input.
The input range is +10V at full roll diameter and 0V is 0% at center of core.
Set MSW1–3 to Enable. Refer to Section 7.3 for details.
External Start Level
Sets the Start Level for use with the Start Mode.
A setting of +10V sets 100% output for Start Level and 0V is 0% output.
Set MSW1–4 to Enable. When enabled, overrides Parameter 1.
External Taper Ratio
Sets the Taper Ratio Parameter 14 with an external analog input.
A setting of +10V sets 100% Taper Ratio and 0V sets 0%. Set MSW1–5 to
Enable. When enabled, External Taper Ratio overrides Parameter 14.
Output
Control Output
Controls the torque output of brake, clutch, or drive. Torque control output is
linear on a 0-10 VDC. 4-20 mA, or 0-24 VDC (Magnetic Particle) output.
Tension or Diameter
Measurement Output
Output for monitoring and/or recording the Tension Measurement or the Diameter
Measurement.
0-10V DC and 0-1mA outputs available for simultaneous monitoring.
