The
Computer SMART III FASTregulatorisconnectedtounitsthatcontainca-
pacitors,whichremainchargedafterthevoltagesourceisdisconnected�
Wait at
least 5 minutes aftertheunitisdisconnectedbeforehandlingitsinternalcom-
ponentsinordertoavoidtheriskofelectricshock�
Any manipulation or use of the unit other than that specified by the manu-
facturer may compromise user safety�
Makesurethattheunitsarecorrectlyearthedbeforetheyareconnected�Afaultyearthconnec-
tioncouldleadtofaultyoperationandleadtoariskofelectricalshockfortheuserorperson
handlingtheunit�
Resonancecanoccurwhentheunitisconnectedwithnoload�Inthiscase,thevoltagehar-
monicscanbeamplified,causingdamagetothecompensationunitandotherunitsconnected
tothemains�
Thesafeuseofthe
COMPUTER SMART III FASTrequiresthepersonsinstallingorhandling
ittofollowthegeneralsafetymeasuresofLVelectricalinstallations,aswellasthewarnings
indicatedinthisinstructionmanual�
Theunitwillbeinstalledonapanel(138+1
x138+1mmpaneldrillhole,incompliancewithDIN
43700)�Allconnectionsareinsidetheelectricpanel�
Terminals,openingroofsorremovingelementscanexposepartsthatarehaz-
ardoustothetouchwhiletheunitispowered�Donotusetheunituntilitisfully
installed�
Theunitmustbeconnectedtoapowercircuitthatisprotectedwithgl(IEC269)orMtypefuses
witharatingof0�5to2A�Itmustbefittedwithacircuitbreakerorequivalentdevicefordiscon-
nectingtheunitfromthepowersupplymains�
Thepowerandvoltagemeasurementcircuitsaswellastherelaycontactcircuitsmustbecon-
nectedwithcablesthathaveaminimumcross-sectionof1�5mm

Oneorthreeexternalcurrenttransformers(CT)needtobeinstalledinordertomeasurecur-
rent�Usually,thetransformationratiooftheseCTsisIn/5A,whereInisatleast1�5timesthe
totalmaximumloadcurrent�
Thesecondarycablesofthecurrenttransformers(CT)musthaveaminimumcross-section
of2�5mm

�FordistancesbetweentheCTsandtheunitofmorethan25m,thiscross-section
shouldbeincreasedby1mm
2
forevery10m�
Thecurrenttransformers(CT)mustbeinstalledatapointinthedistributionpanelwhichcarries
allthecurrentoftheloadstobecompensatedaswellasthecurrentofthecapacitorsthem-
