Installation Instructions

1. Thoroughly clean all flange surfaces removing all traces of any old gasket material or any

adhesive residue.

2. Inspect all flange surfaces for warping, pitting or other surface imperfections that may

prevent a good seal.

3. Use new bolts, nuts and hardened washers. Prior to installation, lubricate the bolt

threads, nuts, washer faces and the underside of each bolt head with lubricant (Fel Pro
C5A or equivalent). This lubricant is necessary to ensure uniform stress distribution on
the sealing surface. Use care not to get any lubricant on the gasket material.

4. Center the new gasket on the flange face. Do not allow the gaskets to protrude into the

flow stream.

5. Use the torque specifications provided by the gasket manufacturer to determine the

proper torque setting.

6. Using a torque wrench, tighten the bolts in at least three stages (30%, 60% & 100%) using

a repeating pattern sequence of 12 o’clock to 6 o’clock to 3 o’clock to 9 o’clock around the
flange as shown in the diagrams below.

7. Leak test all connections.
