Adjusting the Screen Cradle Open Setpoint
When fully open, the flange on the rear of the screen cradle should just make contact with the
cradle stop. If the cradle makes contact with the stop and the motor continues to run,
immediately stop the jackscrew motor to avoid serious damage to the jackscrew. Then adjust
the cradle jackscrew open setpoint. The screen cradle open setpoint might also need to be
adjusted if the cradle stops before it reaches the open position.

It is important that the cradle rests against the stop when fully open. This reduces the strain
on machine components while you are working in the screen/discharge area.

Use the following procedure to set the screen cradle open setpoint:

1. Lower the screen cradle as directed in Section 5-4 on page 23.

2. Jog the cradle open until it arrives at the setpoint

3. Open the screen cradle jackscrew switch housing, and remove the keeper. (See

Figure 4)

4. Turn the Open Position Nut toward the switch until the switch trips. Turn the nut an

additional half-turn toward the switch.

5. Replace the keeper, and close the screen cradle jackscrew switch housing.

Adjusting the Screen Cradle Closed Setpoint
When the screen cradle is fully closed, the cradle front flange should be parallel with the
downstroke knife block and the cradle retainer knobs should engage the cradle freely. If the
cradle stops before it reaches the closed position, or if the jackscrew motor continues to run
when the cradle is fully closed, the jackscrew internal limit switches must be adjusted.

Use the following procedure to set the screen cradle closed limit switch:

1. Raise the screen cradle as directed in 5-4 on page 23.

2. Jog the cradle closed until it arrives at the setpoint.

3. Open the screen cradle jackscrew switch housing, and remove the keeper. (See

Figure 4)

4. Turn the Closed Position Nut toward the switch until the switch trips. Turn the nut an

additional half-turn.

5. Replace the keeper and close the screen cradle jackscrew switch housing.
