A project you recorded on the R-4 can be moved or copied to your computer. Likewise, files from your
computer can be moved or copied to the R-4’s hard disk.
Using battery power will not cause a malfunction, but we recommend that you always use the AC adaptor
to prevent damage to the contents of the hard disk, which could occur if the batteries fail while the R-4 is
connected to your computer.

Turn on the R-4’s power switch .

Use a USB cable to connect the R-4 to your computer.
The computer will detect the R-4, and the screen shown at right
will appear.
It may take several seconds for detection to occur.
* If you see a dialog box asking you to “Windows can perform the same action each time you insert a disk
or connect a device with this kind of file,” click [Cancel] .
The computer will detect the R-4 as follows.

You can copy WAV files from the R-4 to your computer, or from your computer to the R-4.
To copy a file, drag and drop it.

Windows When viewed from My Computer or Explorer, the R-4 will appear as EDIROL R-4 .
Mac OS The R-4 will appear as EDIROL R-4 on the desktop.
