Disposal

The packaging is wholly composed of environ-
mentally friendly materials that can be disposed
of at a local recycling centre.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details
of how to dispose of your discarded product.

In the interest of the environment, do not throw
out your discarded device with your household
refuse. Take it to a suitable centre where it can
be disposed of properly. Your local council will
be able to tell you where the collection centres
are located and their opening times.

Setting the random mode

Note: This function switches the time switch arbitrarily on
and off and is intended to prevent burglaries by

simulating

an occupied house with e.g. lights switching on and off at
irregular intervals. Your preprogrammed switching commands
are moved by a random amount up to 30 minutes on each
day. This function is only possible if one or more switching
commands have been set.

sequences. To do this, repeat the above-described program-
ming procedure in each case. The PROG 2 ON “- - : - -”

Plug the device into a properly installed 220–250 V, 50 Hz

mains outlet socket. All the indicators in the LC display

1

appear briefly. Then the time indicator appears.
Note: In the event of a power cut, the in-built recharge-
able battery ensures that the time is kept going and the
automatic switching program remains activated. The
device is fully programmable without a power supply,
as long as the rechargeable battery is fully charged.

Operation

Setting the day of the week and time

Before use

The time switch has an integral rechargeable battery. This
serves to retain stored data, e.g. time, date and switching
procedures. The rechargeable battery must be charged for
24 hours before first use. You can make settings on the
device during the charging process.

Always check the device for damage before plugging it

into a mains outlet socket. Do not use the device if you
discover it is damaged in any way. In the event of dam-
age, repairs or other problems with the device, please
contact a specialist repair shop.

Do not plug in any devices that hang from and exert

their self-weight on the plug. This will prevent any non-
permitted heating up of and mechanical damage to the
mains outlet socket.

Do not use the device with power outlet strips or extension

cables.

Please note that damage arising from improper handling,

non-observance of the operating instructions or interfer-
ence with the inside of the device by unauthorised persons
is excluded from the warranty.

The device is not suitable for switching inductive loads in

excess of 10 A (amperes). For this reason never operate
electric motors or fluorescent lights fitted with conven-
tional ballasts with this time switch. Ask an electrician or

CAUTION! Do not have one digital time switch in-
serted behind another. There is the danger of mechanical
damage if one adapter plug is inserted behind another.

Do not allow the device to be subjected to extreme heat

or cold.

Do not allow the device to be subjected to extreme

temperature fluctuations. Failure to observe this advice
could lead to condensation forming. Wait until the device
has reached the temperature of the room before you
use it.

Do not cover the device with newspapers, articles of

clothing or the like. Otherwise the device may heat up,
which is not permitted.

Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging
material or the device. The packaging material presents
a suffocation hazard and there is a risk of loss of life
from electric shock.

This device is not intended to be used by persons (in-

cluding children) with restricted physical, sensory or
mental abilities or with insufficient experience and / or
knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person who
is responsible for their safety or they have received in-
struction on how to use the device from such a responsible
person. Children should be supervised in order to ensure
that they do not play with the device.
