This section introduces a range of functions that
you can access when the Mode switch is set to
“
D ”. The explanations below all presuppose that
the Mode switch is set to “ D ”.
If there is a power socket handy, use the special
AC Power Adapter AC-5V/AC-5VH (sold
separately) so there is no need to worry about
the batteries running out during playback
(
➡P.13, 66).

Features Playback
Digital telephoto photography allows you to
enlarge the central portion of the image by 2.5
✕ .
Digital telephoto photography can only be used
for images shot using the LCD monitor that have
a file size setting of “1280” “640”.
If you continue using the optical zoom and press
the “
ab ” button again to select telephoto ( k ),
the Mode switches to digital zoom photography.
Pressing “
a ” zooms in and displays the
enlargement scale on the LCD monitor. Press
“
b ” to return to the previous level.
“640” : No digital telephoto ⇔ 1.3✕ ⇔ 2.5✕
“1280” : No digital telephoto
⇔ 1.3✕

! In Macro Photography, due to the optical zoom fixed
to the wide-angle setting, pressing the telephoto side
(k side) of the “
ab ” button switches the camera to
digital telephoto.
