The MR-HD100’s default file system is UDF, Universal Disk Format.
However, the MR-HD100 provides the ability to format the drive in
either the

FAT32

or

UDF

. Selecting which drive format to use depends

on the operating system and workflow.

FAT32

The FAT32 file system limits file size to a maximum of 2GB or
approximately, 9 minutes of recording time.

Improving Mounting Time for Mac OS 10.5 and Later
When there are a large number of files on the MR-HD100 and it is

set to

UDF Read/Write

mode, it can take several minutes for mount

the MR-HD100 to the Mac desktop.

To shorten mounting time, set the MR-HD100 to

Recording Time Depends on Recorder Mode and Resolution
The number of minutes per 2G file depends upon the recorder

mode and resolution:

• DV - 9 minutes,
• 720p (MOV) - 10 minutes,
• 720p (M2T) - 13 minutes,
• 1080i (M2T) - 9 minutes,
• 1080i (MOV) - 8 minutes (1080/60i) or 7.5 minutes (1080/50i),
