Configuring a Unique Wireless Network Name

All

clients

(stations) on the wireless LAN must have the same network name (

ESSID

) as the

access point

on the

SBG1000. You must configure the same ESSID on all IEEE 802.11b LAN clients.

To configure the ESSID:

Start the SBG1000 Setup Program as described in

“Starting the SBG1000 Setup Program”

on page 32.

On the left frame, click Wireless.

Click the NETWORK tab to display:

In the ESSID field, type a name. It can be any alphanumeric, case-sensitive string up to 32 characters. The
default is “Motorola.” Do not use the default ESSID.

Click Save Changes to save your changes.
