Three high-quality still image shooting modes

1. 6M Pro-Still (Pixel Shift Mode) (

pg. 46)

This mode collects twice as much image data by
using two exposures (with the CCD shifted one
pixel for the second exposure), resulting in an
image consisting of 6 million pixels, or twice as
many in normal mode.

2. DR Pro-Still (Wide Range Mode) (

pg. 47)

This mode uses two exposures, one with the
exposure adjusted for the dark portions of the
image, and one with the exposure adjusted for the
bright portions of the image. By using the image
data from both exposures, it is possible to achieve a
wide dynamic range that was previously impossible.
This mode avoids pictures where part of the image
is blacked out or whited out, which occurs easily
with conventional digital cameras.

3. NR Pro-Still (Noise Reduction Mode) (

pg. 48)

This mode uses several exposures to collect a large
amount of image information, then extracts the
signal components and eliminates the noise
components. This mode eliminates electronic noise,
which occurs easily with conventional digital
cameras.
