NOTE:
Digital audio from [L-1/L-2 DIGITAL INPUT (COAXIAL/OPTICAL)]
cannot be recorded. Use the analogue audio input from the 21-pin
SCART connectors during recording.
L-2 Select Setting
Set AL-2 SELECTB to the appropriate mode depending on the type
of appliance connected to the unit’s [L-2 INPUT/DECODER]
connector.

Perform steps 1 and 2 of AL-1 Output And L-1 Input SettingB
(A pg. 69).

Press selection keys to select AL-2 SELECTB, then press
ENTER for confirmation.

L-2 SELECT ^ VIDEO/RGB / S-VIDEO/RGB / SAT VIDEO/RGB
/ SAT S-VIDEO/RGB / DECODER
Select AVIDEO/RGBB or AS-VIDEO/RGBB to use this unit as the
recording deck with the player connected to the [L-2 INPUT/
DECODER] connector, or to use the satellite receiver connected to
the [L-2 INPUT/DECODER] connector.
VIDEO/RGB :
If a connected appliance’s output is compatible with regular
video signals, set to
AVIDEO/RGBB.
S-VIDEO/RGB :
If a connected appliance’s output is compatible with Y/C
signals, set to
AS-VIDEO/RGBB. You can obtain a high-quality
picture. (For connection, be sure to use a 21-pin SCART cable
that is compatible with the Y/C signal.)
Select ASAT VIDEO/RGBB or ASAT S-VIDEO/RGBB to view a
satellite programme with the TV set while the unit is turned off.
SAT VIDEO/RGB :
If a connected satellite receiver’s output is compatible with
regular video signals, set to
ASAT VIDEO/RGBB.
SAT S-VIDEO/RGB :
If a connected satellite receiver’s output is compatible with Y/C
signals, set to
ASAT S-VIDEO/RGBB. You can obtain a high-
quality S-VHS picture. (For connection, be sure to use a 21-pin
SCART cable that is compatible with the Y/C signal.)
DECODER :
To use a decoder connected to the [L-2 INPUT/DECODER]
connector.
NOTES:
● When RGB signals are output from the connected appliance
such as a satellite receiver, the unit will record in RGB signals
except when
AL-2 SELECTB is set to ADECODERB.
● If you have a satellite receiver or a decoder connected to the [L-2
INPUT/DECODER] connector, be sure to set
AL-2 SELECTB back
to appropriate mode after editing.
● When you want to play back and record RGB picture, connect the
satellite receiver’s RGB compatible output connector to the unit’s
input connector.
● If you are not connecting a satellite receiver or a decoder to the
[L-2 INPUT/DECODER] connector, leave
AL-2 SELECTB set to
AVIDEO/RGBB.
● When AL-2 SELECTB is set to ASAT VIDEO/RGBB and ASAT S-
VIDEO/RGB B, ASATB appears on the TV screen or front display
panel instead of AL-2B.
● If AL-1 OUTPUTB is set to ASCART S-VIDEOB, it is not possible to
set AL-2 SELECTB to ADECODERB or ASAT VIDEO/RGBB.
● If AL-1 OUTPUTB is set to ASCART RGBB, it is not possible to set
AL-2 SELECTB to ADECODERB or ASAT S-VIDEO/RGBB.
● If AL-1 OUTPUTB is set to ACOMPONENTB and AL-2 SELECTB to
ASAT VIDEO/RGBB, ASAT S-VIDEO/RGBB or ADECODERB, be
sure to connect the [L-1 INPUT/OUTPUT] connector with a TV.
● In order to set AL-2 SELECTB to ASAT S-VIDEO/RGBB, AL-1
OUTPUT B must be first set to ASCART S-VIDEOB.
F-1 Input Setting
Set AF-1 INPUTB to the appropriate mode depending on the
connector ([VIDEO] or [S-VIDEO]) being used on the front panel.

When connecting an appliance to the [VIDEO] input connector,

S-VIDEO:
When connecting an appliance to the [S-VIDEO] input
connector, set to
AS-VIDEOB .
INFORMATION
When you have selected
AMAGYARORSZÁGB, AČESKÁ
REPUBLIKA B, APOLSKAB or AOTHER EASTERNB for the country
setting (A pg. 17), ADECODERB will not appear as a selectable
item for AL-2 SELECTB.
