To perform a hard reset
When you cannot start your CLIE handheld by performing a soft reset, you
must perform a hard reset to restart it.
Note
All stored records, are deleted by a hard reset.
Do not perform a hard reset unless you cannot start your CLIE handheld
with a soft reset.
However, you can restore records only stored on your computer with
HotSync and you can see it the next time you perform a HotSync operation.

Push and hold the power button.

Slowly press the reset button at the back while pushing the
power button.
The “Palm Computing Platform” screen appears.

Remove your finger from the power button.
The message on the screen indicates that all records stored on your
CLIE handheld are deleted.

Push the upper part of the scroll button on the front panel.
Your CLIE handheld is reset.
After a hard reset, the current date and time are not modified. The other
settings, such as the format preferences, are set back to the factory
(default) settings.
Note
If the scroll button was used just prior to hard-resetting, the hard reset may
not be performed.
