Memory Stick
This new compact, portable, and versatile IC recording medium has a data
capacity exceeding a floppy disk. The media is specially designed for
exchanging and sharing digital data with compatible products. As it is
removable, the media can be used for external data storage.
Palm OS
The Operating System of the CLIE handheld. All the applications run on
Palm OS.
PDB extension
Files with the extension .PDB are all data files, not program files executed
on the CLIE handheld.
PIM
PIM is an abbreviation for Personal Information Manager. This is the
generic term for the applications on the CLIE handheld when you use it as a
personal digital organizer. It includes the Date Book for scheduling, the
Address Book for managing personal information, the To Do List for
categorizing and prioritizing the things you have to do, and the Memo Pad
for taking notes.
PRC extension
Files with the extension .PRC are programs to be executed on the CLIE
handheld, e.g., applications or PIM.
Soft reset
Performing a soft reset interrupts any running applications to restart your
CLIE handheld. The applications installed on your CLIE handheld and all
your data will be kept.
Stylus
The accessory for writing letters, and running or operating applications on
your CLIE handheld.
Tap
The action of pressing icons or buttons on the screen once with the stylus
and releasing it. This is the basic operation on the CLIE handheld for
starting up the applications or switching modes.
