“Language” is selected.

English, Francais, Espanol:
The language you have selected will play if it is recorded
on the disc.
Other:
If you want to select another language, enter the language
code with the number buttons [0–9]. (See the language
code list on page E50.)
Original: (Audio)
The unit will select the first priority language of each
disc.
Automatic: (Subtitle)
• The unit will automatically select the same language in

the AUDIO setting.

• When the unit selects the same language as the

AUDIO, the subtitles will not appear during playback.

• When you do not use the same language as the

AUDIO, the subtitles will appear during playback.

Off: (Subtitle)
Subtitles do not appear.

The selected language remains.

Press [SETUP] to close the screen.

Notes:
• If you select a menu or subtitle language

that has not been recorded onto a DVD
disc, the default language setting of the
disc will be used for menus and subtitles.

• If the selected soundtrack language is not

recorded on the disc, the original language
will be heard.

• Depending on the DVD disc, even if you

specify a subtitle language, immediately
after you put the disc in the player, the
default language of the disc may be
displayed.

• Depending on the DVD disc, even if you

have specified English or another language
for the soundtrack, the original language
may be played back.

SETTING LANGUAGE

You can select a language if the DVD disc
has more than one language for menus,
subtitles or the soundtrack recorded onto it.
The settings will be retained in the memory
until they are changed, even if the power is
turned off or the disc is replaced.
