Advanced VCR Operations
Playing/searching at
various speeds
Playback options
View the picture during fast-
forward or rewind
Play frame by frame
Play in reverse
Rewind and start play
Operation
During fast-forward, press and hold ) FF.
During rewind, press and hold 0 REW.
During pause, lift the top cover of the remote
commander and press 7 FRAME or
'
FRAME. Hold down either button to play
one frame each second.
During playback, press <.
During stop, lift the top cover of the remote
commander and press AUTO PB.
Tip
• Adjust the picture using $/4
STILL ADJUST if:
– Streaks appear while playing
in slow motion.
– Bands appear at the top or
bottom while pausing.
– The picture shakes while
pausing.
Notes
• The playback sound is muted
during these modes except for
normal speed playback.
• Tapes recorded in the LP mode
on other VCRs can be played
back on this unit’s VCR but the
picture quality cannot be
guaranteed.
• If the playback mode mark
doesn’t appear on the TV
screen, press DISPLAY.

Shuttle ring
Using the Shuttle ring
With the Shuttle ring, you can operate a variety of playback options.
During playback or pause, turn the Shuttle ring clockwise or
anticlockwise. Each change in the Shuttle ring position changes the
playback mode, and the corresponding mark appears on the TV screen
for a few seconds in the following way if the on-screen display function
is on:
