Recording TV
programs using the
quick timer

After you start recording a TV program from the unit’s VCR tuner, or a
DSS receiver connected to the LINE jacks in the normal way, you can
have the unit’s VCR stop recording automatically after a specified
duration.

While recording, press QUICK TIMER once.

Press QUICK TIMER repeatedly to set the duration.
Each press advances the time in 30 minute increments.

The duration decreases minute by minute to 0:00, then the unit’s
VCR stops recording and turns off automatically.

To extend the duration

Press QUICK TIMER repeatedly to set to the new duration.

To stop recording

To stop the unit’s VCR while recording, press TIMER REC ON/OFF.

Tips

• You can also set the quick

timer and start recording
during stop mode. In this
case, the unit must be
turned on before you start
recording.

• You can turn off the unit

while recording with the
quick timer. This doesn’t
affect the quick timer
recording.

• You can enjoy watching or

listening to another input
source even during quick
timer recording.

Note

• You can use the quick timer

only for recording TV
programs from the unit’s
VCR tuner or LINE input
source.
