automatically

(OFF TIMER)

You can set the CD player to stop playback
automatically within a range of 1 to 99
minutes by one minute. While the timer
function is working, “

” appears at about 5-

second intervals*.

* When Screen 1, 2 or 3 is displayed (Audio CD:

when Screen 1 or 2 is displayed) (page 16)

Press DISPLAY/MENU until the
MENU screen appears. Turn the
jog dial to select “OPTION,” then
press DISPLAY/MENU.

Turn the jog dial to select “TIMER,”
then press DISPLAY/MENU to
enter the selection.

Turn the jog dial to select “10
min*,” then press DISPLAY/MENU.

* Default setting. If you have changed the

setting, the length of time already set
appears.

Turn the jog dial to select the
length of time you want to set from
“01 min” to “99 min”, then press
DISPLAY/MENU to enter the
selection.

To return to the previous screen

Press

– on the CD player.

To cancel the setting operation

Push the 5-way control key toward x.

To check the length of time before the
CD player stops playback

During play, perform steps 1 - 3.

To cancel the OFF TIMER function

The OFF TIMER function will be canceled:
• When you perform steps 1 - 3, changing

the OFF TIMER setting to “OFF.”

• When you listen to the radio.

Locking the controls

(HOLD)

You can lock the controls on your CD player
to prevent accidental button presses.
If you press any button when the HOLD
function is activated, the OPR lamp flashes
and “HOLD” also flashes in the display.

Slide HOLD in the direction of the
arrow.

You can use the HOLD function with both
the CD player and the remote control. You
can still operate your CD player using the
remote control when HOLD on the remote
control is set to off.

To unlock the controls

Slide HOLD in the direction opposite to that
of the arrow.
