To exit the preset memory standby
mode

When the radio is turned on, you can exit the
preset memory standby mode using one of
the following procedures. Preset stations,
however, will remain stored in the CD
player’s memory.
• Hold down MEMORY until the preset

number stops flashing.

• Do not press any button for 30 seconds.

The preset number stops flashing.

• Push the 5-way control key toward u.

The CD player enters the CD playing
mode.

• Push the 5-way control key toward x. The

radio turns off.

To cancel all preset stations

While the radio is turned off and CD
playing is stopped, press and hold
DISPLAY/MENU until the MENU screen
appears.

Turn the jog dial to select “OPTION,” then
press DISPLAY/MENU.

Turn the jog dial to select “TUNER
PRESET,” then press DISPLAY/MENU to
enter the selection.
“Clear?” appears in the display. When you
press DISPLAY/MENU, all the preset
stations are canceled.

stations

You can tune in the station easily by pushing
the 5-way control key toward . or >.

Press RADIO ON/BAND to select
the band.

Changing the tuning
interval

When using the CD player abroad, change
the AM tuning interval on the menu, if
necessary.
9 kHz area: Asia and Europe
10 kHz area: the U.S.A., Canada and South
America
Change it while the radio is turned off and
CD playing is stopped, as follows.

Press and hold DISPLAY/MENU
until the MENU screen appears.

Turn the jog dial to select
“OPTION,” then press DISPLAY/
MENU.

Turn the jog dial to select “AM
STEP,” then press DISPLAY/MENU
to enter the selection.

4

Turn the jog dial to select “9 kHz”
or “10 kHz,” then press DISPLAY/
MENU to enter the selection.

Note

After changing the tuning interval, you need to
preset radio stations again.
