Entering Copy mode
Before making copies, make sure that is lit in green. Otherwise, press
to enter Copy mode. Copy mode is the default setting.
Loading original documents to copy
To place a document onto the flatbed glass

Remove all documents from the ADF (if it is installed).

If you are using the flatbed to scan, do not load any documents into
the ADF.

Lift the document cover or ADF lid.

Place the original document face down on the flatbed glass and align its
center with the arrow mark on the glass.

Gently close the document cover or ADF lid. Closing it too quickly may
cause the document to move on the flatbed glass.

Customize the copy settings by using the control panel buttons. Refer to
“Setting copy options” on page 61. To cancel settings, press Stop/Reset.

Press Start to begin copying.
To load documents into the optional ADF input tray

Do not open the ADF lid while documents loaded into the ADF are
being scanned.

Make sure that there is no document on the flatbed glass.
