"Dynamic Range Control"
Setting

When playing a DVD recorded with Dolby Digital
Surround, set the dynamic range control according to
the software being played. For instance, when the words
are hard to be listened to due to effects sound in a movie,
this setting makes it possible to adjust the volume level
of only the low-level sound and can reduce repetition of
complicated volume level adjustments.

At the factory, the player has been set to "Normal" with
which the audio levels recorded in discs are reproduced
as they are.

Setting items

"

" : Select to return to the previous screen.

"Wide" : Select to reproduced the audio at the level

recorded in the disc.

"Normal" : Select to reduce the difference between

the maximum and minimum volume levels.

"Midnight" : Select to further reduce the difference

between the maximum and minimum volume
levels. This setting is suitable for low-level listening
in late at night, etc.
