VENTING ARRANGEMENTS - HORIZONTAL TERMINATIONS

INSTALLATION

(Dura-Vent System or Regency DV Flex)

The diagram shows all allowable combinations of vertical runs with horizontal terminations, using two 90

o

elbows (two 45

o

elbows equal one 90

o

elbow).

A vent guard should be used whenever the termination is lower than the specified minimum or as per local codes.

For horizontal terminations the Regency Direct Vent Flex System (see page 10) may be used for installations with a maximum continuous vent
length of 10 ft (3.0m).

Note: Must use optional flue adapter (Part # 510-994) when using Simpson Dura-Vent pipe.

Maintain a 1-1/4" clearance to combustibles (1-1/2" with Flex).

Horizontal vent must be supported every 3 feet.

Firestops are required at each floor level and whenever passing through a wall.

Simpson Dura-Vent: 4" inner dia., 6-5/8" outer dia.

NOTE: Only the AstroCap (Part #: 946-523), the Dura-Vent Snorkel Termination Cap (Part #: 982 (14") or Part# 981 (36") and the Riser
Vent (Part #: 640-530) are approved for Horizontal Termination installations.

Wherever necessary due to external location of cap, the AstroCap
can be replaced with the FPI Riser Vent Termination Cap or the
Dura-Vent Snorkel Termination Cap.
