(7) High Speed Auto Mode (H7/L7)

Sets the SmartDup to “High Speed Auto” mode, which will auto-detect and erase a
CD-RW with data, than write to it by copying the master CD title. If you set SW4
to Low Speed, all operation steps will be the same as High Speed, except the recording
speed will drop to 4X only. H7 is the recommended setting.

High Speed Auto mode DIP switch settings:

1. Set the Power Switch to CD Duplicator ON position.

The LEDs will display the firmware version number, for example:
and then run through a series of test numbers:
00, 22, 33... 88, 99.

2. When the self-test is completed, a “rd” (ready) is displayed, followed by two

beeps, “00” and then the speed/function setting or

3. Insert your CD title into the top CD-ROM drive and blank CD-R or

CD-RW media in the bottom CD-RW writer.

a. If you insert a CD-R media with data on it, it will be ejected showing “Er”.

b. If you insert a CD-RW media with data on it, it will be ejected showing

“Er” and “CA”. If you close the tray again, the LED display will show and
beep a final countdown and erase the CD-RW.

4. The LED will then show the maximum writing speed, for example:

6. When the copying is complete, beeps are heard, LED shows “00” and the

CD-R/RW media is ejected.

7. The High Speed Auto mode can be repeated by inserting another CD title

and/or CD-R or CD-RW media.

8. If a failure occurs during the Self-Test, Test, Erase, or Copy modes, beeps are

heard, an “Er” is displayed and the CD-R media will be ejected.
