15. Maintenance
For some maintenance work you must remove the bottom cap.
Danger of electrocution!
Before any work on the appliance, disconnect all poles
from the power supply.
If you additionally need to drain the appliance, look at the chapter
"Draining the appliance".

15.3 Draining the appliance
Risk of scalding!
Hot water can be expelled during draining
If the cylinder needs to be drained for maintenance or to protect the
whole installation when there is a risk of frost, proceed as follows:
» Close the shut-off valve in the cold water line.
» Open the DHW valves on all draw-off points.

1 Drain valve with hose connection
» Screw a hose with G 3/4" connection onto the drain valve.
» Open the drain valve.
15.4 replacing the protective anode
» When replacing the anode, take great care not to screw the
pressure switch on too tightly.
Spanner size for the anode:
— SHD 30 S - SW 13
— SHD 100 S - SW 27
Torque: 1 +0.5 Nm (finger-tight)
The transition resistance between the protective anode and
cylinder connector must be no more than 1.0 Ω.
15.5 Descaling the flange
» Only descale the flange after disassembly and never treat the
cylinder surface and protective anode with descaling agents.
15.6 anti-corrosion protection
Ensure when carrying out service work that the anti-corrosion
protection on the insulating plate is not damaged or removed.
Reinsert the anti-corrosion protection correctly after replacement.
