1.1 ACCESSORIES AND PACKING LIST

Congratulations on choosing the finest, most advanced

panel mount IFR navigation/communication system
available. The GPS 400 represents Garmin’s commitment
to provide accurate, easy-to-use avionics.

Before installing and getting started with the GPS 400,

please check to see that the package includes the following
items. If any parts are missing or damaged, please contact
a Garmin dealer immediately.

• Terrain Data Card
• Installation Rack
• Connectors
• GPS Antenna
• Pilot’s Guide
• Quick Reference Guide
• Database Subscription Packet
• Warranty Registration Card
• GPS 400 Simulator CD-ROM

The Garmin dealer installs and configures the GPS

400. The GPS 400 is secured in the installation rack
with the proper wiring connections performed. After
installation, the NavData Card and the TERRAIN Data
Card are installed into their correct slots on the front of
the unit (see Appendix A). A Garmin dealer can answer
any questions about the installation, such as location of
antennas or any connections to other equipment in the
panel.

NOTe: Help Garmin provide better support by
completing on-line registration. registration
ensures notification of product updates, new
products, and provides for lost or stolen unit
tracking. Have the serial number of the GPS
400 available and connect to the website (www.
garmin.com). Look for the product registration
link on the home page.
