You can be notified in two different ways, depending on the system
configuration:

Notification with mailbox access

You acknowledge the notification from your password (has to differ
from the default value 0000). See Changing Mailbox Passwords on
page 81 to select a new password.
You have full access to the
mailbox system.

Notification without mailbox access

You get a short voice message informing you that someone has left
a message for you. You acknowledge the notification by pressing
any key. You have to call back the mailbox system to retrieve the
message.

Note: If you do not acknowledge the notification within the specified

time, the connection is cancelled and repeated later (ask the
system administrator for the specified number of notification
attempts.)

14.2.7.1 Activating

An

External Notification

To activate an external notification, do the following:

1.

Open the mailbox.

Follow the recorded instructions in the main menu.

Press 4 to set up an external notification.

Follow the recorded instructions.

You can program the external notification number, the notification
time, and activate or deactivate the function. The external number
can consist of up to 24 digits (including the digits for external line
access). The time is entered in 24h format. Example: half past eight
in the evening is entered as 2030. Values are set automatically to
even quarters, so that 2013 will be 2015.

Note: The notification number and time must be programmed
before you activate the notification.
