5 7 If i n s t a l l i n g o p t i o n a l b o o s t g a u g e , install b o o s t g a u g e

f i t t i n g ( s u p p l i e d in boost gauge k i t ) in the 1/8 N . P . T . b o s s on

the intake c a s t i n g . N O T E : N u t on f i t t i n g m a y be r e m o v e d to

allow i n s t a l l a t i o n . F i t t i n g s h o u l d be a i m e d t o w a r d l e f t s i d e

of v e h i c l e . Refer to f i g . 2 0 . If b o o s t g a u g e w i l l n o t be

i n s t a l l e d , substitute 1 / 8 " NPT pipe p l u g , f r o m k i t . Use T e f l o n

tape on p i p e t h r e a d s .

5 8 Install 2" d i a m e t e r x 2" long silicone h o s e a n d t w o # 3 6 h o s e

c l a m p s on the intake c a s t i n g c o m p r e s s o r c o n n e c t i o n . T i g h t e n
the c l a m p n e a r e s t the intake c a s t i n g , l e a v e the o t h e r c l a m p
l o o s e . P o s i t i o n the clamps as shown in F i g . 2 to p r o v i d e
a c c e s s for t i g h t e n i n g and p r e v e n t c l a m p f r o m t o u c h i n g ki ck-down
rod .

5 9 Install t u r b o c h a r g e r c o m p r e s s o r air inlet e l b o w a n d c l a m p s on

t u r b o c h a r g e r . N^OT_E: Large end uses #56 c l a m p , s mall end

uses #52 c l a m p . Do not t i g h t e n c l a m p s

at

this t i m e .

6 0 Install intake casting ( a n d g a s k e t ) on intake m a n i f o l d , u s i n g

one 3 / 8 " - l 6 x L, 1 / 2 " hex head b o l t , and 1 3 / 1 6 " O . D . x 3 / 8 "
I . D . flat w a s h e r . Guid e the intake c a s t i n g a n d t u r b o c h a r g e r
h o s e j o i n t s t o g e t h e r as the c a s t i n g is set in p l a c e . M a k e sure
all loose clamps are in p o s i t i o n on the h o s e s . T o r q u e the
moun tin g bolt to aproximately 1 2 - 1 5 f t . I b s . NJDT E : On s o m e
m o d e l s , fuel r et urn line tube m a y h a v e to be b e n t sligh tly so
fuel hose will not be k i n k e d by the u n d e r s i d e of the intake
c a s t i n g . C h e c k for c l e a r a n c e .

6 1 T i g h t e n r e m a i n i n g t u r b o c h a r g e r c o m p r e s s o r d i s c h a r g e hose

clamp .

6 2 WARNING_!_ Make sure t r a n s m i s s i o n k i c k - d o w n rod has c l e a r a n c e thru

its entire t r a v e l . I m p r o p e r l y l o c a t e d c l a m p s , b e n t t h r o t t l e
l e v e r s , h o s e s , e t c . may rub or push a g a i n s t the kick -down rod
and i n t e r f e r e w i t h t r a n s m i s s i o n s h i f t i n g a n d / o r throttle
o p e r a t i o n . C h e c k this before s t a r t i n g e n g i n e .

NOTE Be s u r e y o u h a v e t h e 3 1 / 2 " h i g h a i r f i l t e r e l e m e n t . The

o l d e r 3 " h i g h e l e m e n t , if I n s t a l l e d , w i l l n o t f i l t e r in t h i s

c a s ti n g .
