l i g h t coat of grease on body g a s k e t , s u r f a c < - ! . . , h o l d g a s k e t in
place d u r i n g assembly and to f a c i l i t a t e { ' u t i l i se r v i c e .
6 6 I n s t a l l a i r f i l t e r b o d y s u p p o r t b r a c k e t , u s i n g two o r i g i n a]
i n t a k e m a n i f o l d bolts a n d w a s h e r s and two 3/8" - 1 6 x 1" h e x head
bolts and 1 3 / 1 6 " O . D . x 3 / 8 " l . D . flat w a s h e r s . S t a r t all
b o l t s b e f o r e t i g h t e n i n g . See f i g - 2 2 .
6 7 R e m o u n t v a c u u m b l o c k on f i r e w a l l , r e l o c a t i n g u p w a r d as
required to provide maximum clearance to turbo s y s t e m . D r i 1
new mounting holes to suit and use original sheet m e t a l screws.
6 8 Install anti-depression valve on the intake casting b o d y ,
using original b o l t s , with hose connection facing u p w a r d . Be
sure original seal is in place on anti-depression v a l v e
mounting surface. Remove existing o-ring and nylon sleeve
from the anti-depression valve hose c o n n e c t i o n , if still in
place. See f i g . 2 2 .
6 9 R e m o v e and discard the hose clamp from the heater hose
connection on the water p u m p . Hose clamp may be cut w i t h
snips to avoid disconnecting h o s e . See f i g . 23-
7 0 Thoroughly degrease the oil fill-pipe flange face ( i n j e c t o r
pump drive cover flange face on 1987 and later m o d e l s ) u s i n g
a c e t o n e , lacquer thinner or other non-oil based s o l v e n t .
Install the crankcase vent hose adapter and oil f i l l - p i p e
(inspection cover on 1987 and later m o d e l s ) using two 5 / l 6 " -
1 8 x 2" hex bolts and two 5 / 1 6 split lock w a s h e r s . Use
silicone sealer on both flange s u r f a c e s . See f i g - 23-
71 Replace the hose clamp previously removed from the h e a te r
hose with a N o . 10 hose c l a m p , provided in the k i t . K e e p the-
tail of the hose clamp clear of the alternator d r i v e b e l t . See
fig. 23 •
7 2 Install crankcase v e n t h o s e , from crankcase v e n t a d a p t o r
nipple to anti-depression v a l v e , using two # 1 6 hose c l a m p s , as
shown in fig- 23- Be sure that hose is i n s t a l l e d w i t h no low
areas that could cause oil puddling in the h o s e ; .
73 R e i n s t a l l flexible f r e s h air i n l e t hose on i n t a k e e a s t i n g .
74 Install pyrometer and gauge p a n e l . Refer to Instructions i n c l u d e d
with p y r o m e t e r .
