i n t a k e m a n i f o l d bolts a n d w a s h e r s and two 3 / 8 " - l 6 x 1" h e x head
bolts and 1 3 / 1 6 " O . D . x 3 / 8 " I . D . flat w a s h e r s . S t a r t all
bolts b e f o r e t i g h t e n i n g . See f i g - 2 2 .
6 7 R e m o u n t v a c u u m b l o c k on f i r e w a l l , r e l o c a t i n g u p w a r d as
r e q u i r e d to p r o v i d e m a x i m u m c l e a r a n c e to turbo s y s t e m . b r i l l
n e w m o u n t i n g holes to suit and use original s h e e t m e t a l s c r e w s .
6 8 Install anti-depression valve on the intake c a s t i n g b o d y ,
using original b o l t s , with hose connection facing u p w a r d . Be
sure original seal is in place on a n t i - d e p r e s s i o n v a l v e
mounting s u r f a c e . R e m o v e existing o-ring and nylon s l e e v e
from the anti-depression valve hose c o n n e c t i o n , if stil l in
p l a c e . See f i g . 2 2 .
6 9 R e m o v e and d iscard the hose clamp from the h e a t e r h o s e
connection on the water p u m p . Hose c l a m p may be cut w i t h
snips to avoid disconnecting h o s e . See f i g . 23-
7 0 Thoroughly degrease the oil fill-pipe flange face ( i n j e c t o r
p u m p d r i v e cover flange face on 1987 and later m o d e l s ) u s i n g
a c e t o n e , lacquer thinner or other non-oil based s o l v e n t . Install
the crankcase v e n t hose a d a p t e r and oil f i l l - p i p e ( i n s p e c t i o n
cover on 1987 and later m o d e l s ) u s i n g two 5 / l 6 " - 1 8 x 2" hex
bolts and two 5 / 1 6 split lock w a s h e r s . U s e silicone sealer on
b o t h flange s u r f a c e s . See f i g - 2 3 -
71 R e p l a c e the hose clamp previously r e m o v e d f r o m the h e a t e r
hose with a N o . 10 hose c l a m p , provided in the k i t . K e e p the
tail of the hose c l a m p clear of the alte rnat or d r i v e b e l t . See
f i g - 23-
7 2 Install crankcase vent h o s e , from crankcase v e n t a d a p t o r
nipple to anti-depression v a l v e , using two # 1 6 hose c l a m p s , as
shown in f i g - 23- Be sure that hose is i n s t a l l e d w i t h no low
areas that could cause oil p u d d l i n g in the h o s e .
73 Reinstall flexible fresh air inlet hose on i n t a k e c a s t i n g .
74 Install pyrometer and gauge panel. Refer to instructions included
with pyromete r.
