In order to protect your engine from water d a m a g e , Ford Motor
Company r e c o m m e n d s that the air inlet duct be d i s c o n n e c t e d from
the air filter housing when fording s t r e a m s . This warning can
be found on both ends of the air inlet duct ( i t does not appear
on some very early m o d e l s ) . Removing this duct allows the
engine to draw air into the air filter f r o m a higher
e l e v a t i o n , reducing the risk of water entering the e n g i n e .
The duct should be replaced when fording is completed.

This air inlet duct is reused with your BANKS 6 . 9 / 7 - 3 L turbo
k i t . You should continue to follow the fording instructions
after the turbo kit is i ns t a l l e d .
