Password Fields

NOTE: Only personnel logged in as administrators can set and read passwords.

The two Password fields on the TCP/IP screen are for entering administrator, user, or both
passwords. Passwords are case sensitive and are limited to 12 upper case, lower case, or
a combination of both alphanumeric characters. When logged on as a user on all system
types, and when logged on to a FOX Matrix 14400 or 320x system as administrator,
characters in these fields are masked by asterisks (*****) and are not editable. If you do not
want to password protect an access level, leave the associated Password field blank. After
entering the desired password in one of the fields, touch the Take button.

NOTE: The following characters are not recommended or are invalid for the Password

field: + ~ , @ = ‘ [ ] { } < > “ ; : | \ ? and space

Date Field

NOTE: Only personnel logged in as administrators can edit the Date field.

The Date field displays the current date in the Greenwich Mean Time zone on Matrix 12800
systems, or local time on FOX Matrix 14400 and 320x systems. If necessary, adjust the date.
When you touch the field, a set date field appears with the date in the format (M)M/(D)D/
YYYY.

Leading zeroes are not displayed and are not required for entry (5 or 05 are both acceptable
entries for May).

Time (GMT) Field

NOTE: Only personnel logged in as administrators can edit the Time field.

The Time field displays the current time in the Greenwich Mean Time zone on Matrix 12800
systems, or local time on FOX Matrix 14400 and 320x systems. If necessary, adjust the
time. When you touch the Time field, a set time field appears with the time in the 24-hour
format HH/MM/SS (00:00:00 to 23:59:59).

Leading zeroes are displayed in the set time field but are not required for entry.

Matrix Name Field

NOTE: Only personnel logged in as Administrators can edit the Matrix Name field.

The Matrix Name field contains the name used as the “from” information when the
matrix e-mails notification of its failed or repaired status, and the host name for logging
into a FOX Matrix 14400 or 320x system that has DHCP turned on. This name field can be
changed to any valid name using alphanumeric characters.

NOTE: The following characters are not recommended or are invalid for the Matrix

Name field: + ~ , @ = ‘ [ ] { } < > “ ; : | \ ? and space
