Figure 14 - Terminal Block

Startup technician must check for proper
motor rotation and check fan motor
amperage listed on the motor nameplate is
not exceeded. Motor overload protection
may be a function of the variable frequency
drive and must not be bypassed.

Note: All units are factory wired for
208/230V, 460V, or 575V. If unit is to be
connected to a 208V supply, the transformer
must be rewired to 208V service. For 208V
service interchange the yellow and red
conductor on the low voltage control
transformer.
Red-Black for 208V
Yellow-Black for 230V

Wire control signals to the unit’s low
voltage terminal block located in the
controls compartment.

If any factory installed wiring must be
replaced, use a minimum 221°F (105°C)
type AWM insulated conductors.

Evaporative-Cooled Condenser Field Piping
Connections

There are at least two field water
connections that must be made for the
evaporative-cooled condenser. There is a
3/4” PVC socket city make up water
connection and a 2” PVC socket drain
connection, as shown in Figure 15. This
drain should connect to a sanitary sewer or
other

code

permitted

drain.

These

connections can go through the base or the
wall of the unit.
There is a cutout in the base with a cap that
is 1” tall and the cap is sealed to the unit
base to prevent any leaks in the unit from

Rotation must be checked on all
MOTORS AND COMPRESSORS of
three phase units. Condenser fan
motors should all be checked by a
qualified service technician at startup
and any wiring alteration should only
be

made

at

power

connection. Variable frequency drives
are programmed to automatically
rotate the fan in the correct rotation.
Do not rely on fans with variable
frequency drives for compressor
rotation.

CAUTION

Scroll compressors are directional
and will be damaged by operation in
the wrong direction. Low pressure
switches on compressors have been
disconnected after factory testing.
Rotation should be checked by a
qualified service technician at startup
using suction and discharge pressure
gauges and any wiring alteration
should only be made at the unit
power connection.
