CONTROLS:
1 = Pushbutton switch „ready“ (fig. 1)
Depress this switch to start the machine or

to stop the machine.

Note: each time when switching on the
shredder there is an automatic update of
the light barrier. Therefore, during several
seconds the 2 signal lamps 4 and 5 (fig. 1)
are blinking alternately.

2 = Light barrier (forward operation) (fig. 2)

a) Is blinking when push button (1) is activa-

ted.

b) The shredding operation is started as soon

as a sheet of paper passes through the
feed slot.

3 = Pushbutton switch „reverse“ (fig. 1)
Pressing this button activates the cutting

mechanism into reverse.

4 = Pilot lamp „ready“ (fig. 1)
Lights when the pushbutton switch (1) is

operated.

5 = Pilot lamp
„receptacle full“ / „door open“ (fig. 1)

a) Flashes when the receptacle is full and

needs to be emptied. At the same time
the machine switches off automatically.

b) Lights when the door is not closed. The

machine then switches off automatically
and it cannot be started as long as the
door is open.

6 = Pilot lamp „paper jam“ (fig. 1)
Lights when too much paper is fed to the

cutters. The cutting system blocks and stops.
The motor is switched off.

Note: just as a signal of a forthcoming paper
blockage, the control lamp starts

blinking

almost before the maximum paper input
capacity is reached.

FEEDING THE PAPER:
- Turn machine on with pushbutton switch (1)

(fig. 1).

Pilot lamp lights up (4) (fig. 1).
The light barrier (2) (fig. 2) blinks.
- Feed paper through the inlet guide to the cutting

system.

- Machine switches automatically to forward

and draws paper in. The machine switches off
automatically after shredding.

Never feed the shredder with a quantity
of paper exceeding the maximum indi-
cated in the technical details.
Should the machine be overfed, follow the
instructions under „PAPER JAM“.

EMPTYING THE RECEPTACLE (fig. 3):
When the receptacle is full, the machine turns off
automatically.
The pilot lamp (5) (fig. 1) flashes.
Empty the receptacle as follows:
- Open door. Remove the full sack and dispose

of contents.

- PLace empty sack into receptacle and close

door. The pilot lamp (5) (fig. 1) goes off.

Note: The machine will only run with closed
door!

SCOPE OF APPLICATION:
The document shredder

intimus 302/CC/HS/SF

// 402/CC/HS is a machine for the destruction of
common written material.

The machine may only be used to
shred paper!
Shredding of other types of data carriers
and also of staples and paper clips with
the models with cutting width 0.8x12 mm
(HS) or 0.8x4.5 mm (SF) may lead to
injuries (for example due to splintering of
hard materials etc.) and damage to the
machine (for example destruction of the
cutter etc.).

Exception: Single CD ROMs can also be shred-
ded with

5.8 mm strip-cut models.

INSTALLATION:
- Unpack and set machine upright.
- Place plastic sack into the receptacle.
- Plug in the machine (for instructions for the

necessary precautions see „TECHNICAL
DATA“.

The air vents in the housing are ne-
cessary for cooling and may not be
covered or closed!
The mains connection at the machine
must be freely accessible!
Only operate the machine in enclosed
rooms at temperatures between 10°C
and 25°C!

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES

<< The machine may not be operated by more

than one person at any given time!

The machine was designed for safe operation
by “one person only”.

<< During the shredding process no other

work may be performed on the machine
(for example cleaning, etc.)!

<< The machine is not a toy, and is not suitable

for use by children!

The overall technical safety concept of
this machine (dimensions, feed openings,
emergency shutdown devices etc.) does not
provide for any guarantee regarding hazard-
free operation by children.

<< Danger of injury! Keep all

loose articles of clothing, ties,
jewelery, long hair or other loose
objects away from opening!

<< Danger of injury! Never insert fingers into

opening!

<< In case of danger switch the machine off

with the mains switch, or with the emer-
gency switch, or unplug the machine!

<< Always unplug the machine from the

mains power supply before opening the
machine!

Repairs may only be performed by trained
personnel!
