CHAPTER 4

Installing your
Application

IntelliTrack ISRP v8.x operates in a network environment and involves
application and server setup. ISRP may be setup on your system on a single
workstation (all components on one PC), or in a network setup (worksta-
tion, database, and server components distributed on two or more PCs).

Single Workstation Setup: Uses SQL Server on the PC to run the
ISRP database.

Network Workstation Setup: Requires SQL Server on a network PC
to run the ISRP database.

Installation Terms

During workstation application installation, you will come across various
terms. These terms, as they relate to installing IntelliTrack ISRP, are
defined below.

Workstation Application: The IntelliTrack ISRP application that runs
on the desktop computer.

SQL Express: A “lite” version of SQL Server that is used to run the
ISRP database. If you are a new user and do not have SQL Server-Full
version installed on your system, SQL Express will be installed during
the installation process to run the ISRP database.

SQL Server: The SQL Server is an application that runs the ISRP
database. It may be used in conjunction with ISRP (instead of SQL
Express).

PC or Machine: Refers to a desktop computer that runs the ISRP
application.

Engine or the full version of SQL server resides. In order to run Intelli-
Track ISRP, you must establish the server connection.

nection.
