Naming Map Objects

Attach a name to a map object by right-clicking on the map
object and choosing “Name…” from its sub-menu on the
popup menu.

Names of roads are somewhat different than names of other
map objects. You can enter just a number for the road name
and that number will be displayed inside a generic road
symbol.

You can enter a road number preceded by one of these
combinations of letters. Each one of these will cause a special
road symbol to be displayed:

A

a generic “A” level road

AS

an Autostrada

AUS

an Australian federal highway

B

a generic “B” level road

BAB

a German autobahn (Bundesautobahn)

C

a generic “C” level road

D

a generic “D” level road

E

a Euroroute

FA

a France Autoroute

G

a China federal highway

I

a U.S. Interstate highway

M

a Great Britain motorway

NH

an India national highway

NZ

a New Zealand state highway

S

a U.S. state highway

US

a U.S. federal highway
