transmission.

User Datagram Protocol (UDP)

A

connectionless transport-layer Internet
protocol that exchanges datagrams without
acknowledgments or guaranteed delivery,
requiring that error processing and
retransmission be handled by other
protocols.

An ITU-T standard that defines how

connections are maintained for remote
terminal access and computer
communications in public data networks.

Zone Information Protocol (ZIP)

The

AppleTalk session-layer protocol that
maintains and discovers the network-wide
mapping of network number ranges to zone
names. NBP uses ZIP to determine which
networks contain nodes that belong to a
zone.
