Network Management Card

Events Menu

Introduction

Overview

The

Events

menu provides access to the options that you use to do the

following tasks:

Access the event log.

Define the actions to be taken when an event occurs, based on
the severity level of that event.
– Event logging
– SNMP trap notification
– Email notification

Note:

You can only use the Web Interface to define which
events will use which actions, as described in

Event

Log on page 45

and

How to Configure Individual

Events on page 53

Define up to four SNMP trap receivers, by NMS-specific

IP

address, for event notifications by

SNMP

traps.

Define up to four recipients for event notifications by Email.

Menu options

In the Web Interface, all of the events options are accessed through the

Events

menu. In the Control Console, you access the available events-

related options, as follows:

You use the

Email

option in the

Network

menu to define the

SMTP server and Email recipients.

You use the

SNMP

option in the

Network

menu to define the

SNMP trap receivers.

You use

C

TRL

-L to access the event log from any menu.
