Adding servers to services

Add data disk request fails

Add data disk request fails.

Issue

Server deactivated

Possible cause

This error might occur if attempting to add a data disk for logical servers that are deactivated. To
continue to add the data disk, initiate an Activate servers request, and after restoring the service,
add the disks to the Logical Server Group.

Action

Provisioning of Matrix OE service fails in customization

Provisioning of Matrix OE service fails in customization.

Issue

Matrix environments should not attempt to join a server to an Active Directory during the OS
installation with either Insight Control server provisioning or SA deployment. Doing so will cause

Possible cause

the Matrix post install customization step to fail with an error stating “Error customizing
Logical Server <Logical server name> realized by <target UUID>

.

Matrix environments can have the newly provisioned server join the domain via an OO workflow.

Action

IO/OO Load Balancer workflows not able to process large HAProxy configuration
requests

The Create Logical Load Balancer Groups workflow targeting the Load Balancer HAProxy may fail
with the following error message:

Issue

The execution of the workflow Create a Logical Load Balancer Groups has

failed.

If this error message appears, the HAProxy configuration file is too big and the infrastructure
orchestration/OO Load Balancer workflows are not able to process this request.

Possible cause

To create many services that use this load balancer, HP recommends that you use the F5 BIG-IP
Load Balancer. For more information, see the F5 - BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager website at http://
h17007.www1.hp.com/one/alliance/f5/big-ip.htm?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001.

Action

Add disk operation is not working with SPM in VM cluster environment

When adding a disk, the following error message appears:

Issue

There is at least one vm running or defined in a vmHost, it should be

removed or migrated before executing the requested operation.

Either there are VMs running, or Matrix infrastructure orchestration is unable to determine if VMs
are running.

Possible cause

Remove or migrate any existing executing VMs on this VM host or fix any VM host communication
issues.

Action

Host is left in maintenance mode in vCenter after add server operation

In a VM Cluster environment, the add server operation creates the host, but leaves it in maintenance
mode.

Issue

When a host is in maintenance mode, IO does not add it to any server pools.

Possible cause

Manually remove the host from maintenance mode in vCenter before performing the add server
operation.
