A volume is blocked.

Causes:

A failure occurred in two or more hard disk drives.

The breaker was turned off once and then the power supply was switched

on.

Solutions:

Ask HP technical support to solve the problem.

Trouble occurs on the

application software

installed in the host

computer in order to

monitor the volumes.

Causes:

Access to the volume is rejected.

Solutions:

Terminate the application software which monitors the volumes.

Change all the XP Snapshot pair statuses to PSUS, then start the

application software to monitor the volumes.

For details about the relations between the pair status and host access, see

Table 2

on page 16.

When the host computer

tries to access the port,

an error occurs and the

host cannot access the

port.

Causes:

Some ports go offline because the access to the volume on the other

port(s) is rejected.

Solutions:

Wait for a while, then try the operation again.

If the application software is installed in the host to monitor the volume,

terminate the application.

When you are operating

Remote Web Console,

time-out occurs frequently.

Causes:

The load on the Remote Web Console computer is too heavy, so the

Remote Web Console computer cannot respond to the SVP.

The period of time until time-out occurs is set too short.

Solutions:

Wait for a while, then try the operation again.

Verify the environment parameter setting for the Remote Web console

RMI time-out period.

For information about how to set the RMI time-out period, see the HP

StorageWorks XP24000 Remote Web Console User’s Guide.
