LDEV to Host Dialog Box

The LDEV to Host dialog box opens when you make either of these selections in the Volume Security
window:

Right-click a host from the upper-right table, then select LDEV to Host from the pop-up menu

Right-click an item in the tree view of the Volume Security window, select List , then LDEV to
Host from the pop-up menu. The List -> LDEV to Host command is unavailable if you select a
security group and right-click a host group or LDEV group from below the security group.

You can use this dialog box to specify a volume and view hosts in which the specified volume is
registered (see

(page 149)

).

Item

LDKC number.

LDKC

Specifies the CU image number.

CU

Lists host groups in which the CU is registered.

LDEV table

LDEV indicates the number assigned to an LDEV.

Emulation indicates the emulation types of the volumes.

Note: A volume ID ending in # (for example, 00#) indicates the volume is an
external volume.

Host information.

Host table

No. indicates a sequential number associated with a host.

Note: Each table row usually shows information about a host. However, if a
host is attached to the storage system through a channel extender, the table
row shows information about the channel extender

Type/Model indicates the type and the model number of a host or a channel
extender. The Type appears on the left of the slash (/) and the Model on the
right. An icon indicates the registration status of the host:

SEQNUMBER indicates the node ID of a host or a channel extender.

LPAR indicates the logical partition number of a host. Logical partitions are
virtual systems created by sectioning a computer's memory into separate
units.

Vendor indicates the vendor of a host. Vendors include FJT (Fujitsu), IBM,
HTC (Hitachi), and CNT(Ex) for channel extender. If CNT(Ex) appears, the
Type/Model column indicates the type and model number of a channel
extender. The SEQNUMBER column indicates the node ID of the channel
extender.

Closes the dialog box.
