What we want to see
o
Notice that the short rod has the same range of motion from left to right.
o
This can be accomplished by making changes to where the wheel angle sensor block is
positioned and/or where the long rod connects to the steering knuckle.
o
Below are examples of how to accomplish this change by moving bracket locations to get the
proper range of motion without the rods hitting the steering knuckle or the center axle.
The ideal installation would be to have a 90° parallelogram formed by the rods with the small
rod in line with the 3‐pin weather pack while the wheels are in the center position. This will
ensure that when the potentiometer goes through its range of motion, it will be less likely to hit
the stops at the end of its resolution, helping to avoid damaging the wheel angle sensor.
