Collapsible Floor Mount Installation Instructions

For Part Number’s 2401010010, 2402010010, 2401110010, 2401210010

Instruction #: 8000010252

REV 04/14

This floor mount is designed to mount a steering column to the floor
or firewall and can be installed on either side of the body.
(Figure 1)

1. Choose the location of the mount. This should be a flat surface

that the mount can seal against.

Note: The mount can be rotated

in any direction. Cut out the provided template and use it to help
determine where the mount will be located. Use a punch and
mark the three locations indicated with the X on the template.

(Instruction # 8000010498, 8000010499, 8000010500 or 8000010501)

2. Use a ¼ inch drill bit and drill the two outside holes. We

recommend using a hole saw to cut the center hole. A ¼ inch
hole in the middle will guide the hole saw also.

NOTE: There are four different sizes available for these mounts. If
you have a 1 ½ inch tube use a 2 inch hole saw; a 1 ¾ tube will use
a 2 ¼ inch hole saw; a 2 inch tube will use a 2 ½ inch hole saw; and
a 2 ¼ tube will use a 2 ¾ inch hole saw.

3. Slide the first metal plate onto the bottom of the steering column

tube with the flange facing the top of the column. Next, slide
the O-Ring onto the column followed by the second metal plate
with the flange facing downward. The last piece to be slid onto
the column is the gasket. Slide the gasket over the end of the
tube.

(Figure 2)

4. Install the column through the floor of your vehicle while

retaining the order of the floor mount pieces. The floor mount
(with the seal down) should match the holes you have cut.

5. Use the provided hardware to secure the floor mount to the floor.

Slide 1 flat washer and 1 lock washer on each of the bolts and
thread the bolts through the holes on the floor mount. These
bolts are to be torqued at 11 ft. lbs.

(Figure 3)

6. Your installation is now complete!

*PLEASE NOTE: The enclosed floor mount has a “hot dip” black oxide

finish. It would be important to put a permanent finish on it before you

install.

(See

NOTE for appropriate size)
