Key Features

• Actual distance measurement range:

10-915 meters/11-1,000 yards

• Distance measurement display steps:

[Upper 4-digit display]:

(Actual Distance)

0.5 meter (yard)

(measurement distance is 999.5 meters (yards) or closer)

1.0 meter (yard)

(measurement distance is 1,000 meters (yards) or further)

(Horizontal Distance/Slope Adjusted Distance)

0.2 meter (yard)

(calculated distance is less than 999.8 meters (yards))

1.0 meter (yard)

(calculated distance is 1,000 meters (yards) or further)

[Lower 3-digit display]:

(Actual distance)

1.0 meter (yard)

(measurement distance is 999 meters (yards) or closer)

"- - -"

(measurement distance is 1,000 meters (yards) or further)

(Height with plus(+) minus (-) sign)

0.2 meter (yard)

(calculated distance is 99.8 meters or closer)

1.0 meter (yard)

(calculated distance is between 100 and 999 meters

(yards))

"- - -"

(calculated distance is 1,000 meters (yards) or further)

• Easy-to-aim 6x optical observation system

• Quantifies the horizontal distance to the target and its

height in relation to the rangefinder's level by measuring

actual distance and angle.

• Golf mode displays the slope adjusted distance (Horizontal

distance ± Height) which is useful for golf.

• The results are displayed on upper 4-digit display and/or

lower 3-digit display on LCD panel.

• Active Brightness Control Viewfinder detects light

conditions of the ground area mainly in

the view field and,

when necessary, automatically turns on the orange LED

illumination.

The brightness of the orange illumination is adjusted

automatically according to the light conditions.

• Target Priority Switch System allows you to easily match the

measuring situation.

• Waterproof design (NOT designed for underwater usage)

• Invisible/Eyesafe EN/IEC Class 1M Laser

• 8-second results display

• Compact, lightweight, ergonomic design

• Automatic shut-off (after approx. 8 sec. unattended)

• Default to “Last Use” settings

• Approx. 5-second continuous measuring function
The Nikon Laser 1000A S emits invisible, eyesafe, infrared

energy pulses that reflect off the selected target back to its

optical receiver. Sophisticated precision charge circuitry is used

to instantaneously calculate distances, by measuring the time

it takes for each pulse to travel from the rangefinder to the

target and back. Laser reflectivity and measurement results

may vary according to climatic and environmental conditions,

the colour, surface finish, size, shape and other characteristics

of the target.

The following factors ensure better range and accuracy:

• Night time use

• Cloudy weather

• Bright-coloured targets

• Targets with highly reflective surfaces

• Targets with shiny exteriors

• Large-size targets

• Shooting targets facing at 90 degrees

Measurement may result in inaccuracy or failure in the following cases:

• Slender or small target

• Target has diffusing reflective surface

• Target does not reflect the laser beam to the rangefinder (glass, mirror, etc.)

• Black target

• Target has varying depths

• In snow, rain or fog

• Target measured through glass

• Reflective surface measured from diagonal direction

• Moving target

• Obstacle moving in front of the target

• When targeting the surface of water
