Check satellite signal strength.
Press the R button and check satellite signal
strength in the information display.

Take pictures.
The location data obtained via the navigation satellite system will be recorded
with each photograph or movie taken and can be viewed in the playback photo
info displays (
0 136) or plotted on a map using the supplied ViewNX 2 software
( 0 154).

Turn the location data function off.
To turn the location data function off when it
is no longer needed, select Off for Location
data > Record location data in the setup
menu.

The Satellite Signal Indicator
Signal strength is shown in the location data display as follows:
•
# (static): Camera records latitude, longitude, and altitude.
• $ (static): Camera records latitude and longitude only; altitude is
not recorded.
• % (flashing): Location not recorded.
